Your New Life!
“I help mid-career immigrant women turn personal growth into professional success.”

About Me
Hi, I’m Shazia Mian
I moved from the United Kingdom to the U.S in 2006. Before that, I worked for an American analytical company providing commercial solutions for pharmaceuticals QA/QC, food quality testing, and environmental testing for air, water, and soil.
I am a mom of two teenagers: a son at college and a daughter who is in high school. Recently, I have experienced some heartfelt changes that have set me on my own journey of reflection and renewal. I lost my father when I was 44, my son underwent surgery, and I have gone through some health transitions that have left me reeling from the physical changes. Throughout it all I have been able to have the strength, discipline, and a belief that things happen for a reason, which is beyond anyone's control, and that this inevitably makes you stronger so you are better prepared for what may lie ahead.
I’ve also spent years in the academic world, teaching biochemistry and chemistry at universities like Bellarmine and Indiana University Southeast. Here, I improved my ability to break down complex ideas and guide others to deeper understanding, just like I’ll do with you as we tackle the challenges of your career and personal growth.

The Power We Harness
Like many immigrants here and from around the world, I have a level of resilience, perseverance, and resolve ingrained into the fabric of my being.
I owe all of this to both my parents, who taught me the value of grit, hard work, and a can-do attitude. Over the past year, I have found a great sense of appreciation for the small wins and the bigger picture. This has given me a renewed hope, enthusiasm, and excitement for new possibilities.
I am humbled by what I have learned over the course of it all. I realize that my experiences are inevitable twists and turns throughout the course of my life. I take these opportunities to process, learn, and continue to grow with an open mindset.
As a coach, I want to help other women clarify, grow, evolve, and thrive with a deeper inner strength and beauty that is not limited by societal norms.

How do you help an immigrant person adapt to a new cultural environment?I’ve been there, so I totally get it. Adapting to a new culture is more than just learning the language; it’s about understanding the unspoken rules and how things really work. I’ll help you get a handle on the cultural norms, business etiquette, and communication styles in your new home. We’ll work together to make sure you feel comfortable and confident, whether you’re in a meeting or just navigating daily life.
-
Are your services suitable for an immigrant person who are not fluent in English?Absolutely, language is just one part of communication. I’m experienced in working with people from all over the world and can adjust my style to make sure you’re comfortable and everything is clear. It’s about making sure you feel understood and supported, no matter your language level.
-
What kind of support do you offer between sessions?I’m here for you every step of the way. Between sessions, you can reach out via email or have quick check-ins if you need a bit of extra support. Plus, I’ll provide resources and exercises to keep you moving forward. You won’t feel like you’re going through this alone. I’m with you on this journey.
-
What can I expect from your coaching sessions?Think of our sessions as a safe space where we can explore your goals, strengths, and challenges together. We’ll dive into what makes you unique, identify your transferable skills, and build a roadmap for your career in your new environment. We’ll also work on building cultural intelligence, improving your confidence, and developing strategies for resilience. It’s all about creating a personalized plan that works for you.
-
How long does the coaching process typically take?It really depends on you and your needs. Some people find a few sessions are enough to get them on the right path, while others prefer ongoing support. During our first chat, we’ll figure out what makes sense for you and create a plan that feels right. There’s no pressure. It’s all about what works best for you.

How do you help an immigrant person with career transitions?Transitioning careers in a new country can feel like starting over, but it doesn’t have to be that way. We’ll focus on identifying what you’re already great at and how those skills translate to your new job market. I’ll help you understand the local landscape, navigate job searches, and build a strong professional network. It’s all about leveraging what you’ve already got and making it work for you.
-
Can your coaching help me manage stress and maintain well-being?Absolutely. I know how overwhelming it can be to juggle everything in a new environment. We’ll work on stress management techniques, mindfulness practices, and time management strategies that fit your lifestyle.
